“Lingap Eskwela” Continues to Benefit School Children

The “Lapis at Papel” project of the Libmanan Water District under its Lingap Eskwela Program was set to expand coverage this year, 2009 which shall be fully implemented during the opening of classes this June. At least 2000 pupils in Grades 1 and 2 of 22 selected schools will be given away with pencils and papers.

Early this month of February, preparation has been made to ensure the success of the project. “This is part of our corporate social responsibility; our way of giving back something to the community by way of helping the less fortunate cope up with the basic needs of their children who are in school.”, said Engr. Rodolfo Jimenez, Jr. General Manager of LIWAD during a “distribution” activity held at Concepcion Elementary School on February 10, 2009.

The Lingap Eskwela program is only part of the socio-civic endeavors of LIWAD, among which are the “Tree Planting”, “Feeding” and “Gift Giving” projects under the Lingap Ducut Program. “LIWAD has likewise provided employment opportunities to more than267 Libmaneños by infusing P20 million worth of newly sourced capital investment.”, Jimenez added. “Despite the cost of the new investment, LIWAD remains to offer the lowest water rates compared to the provincial water rates and those offered by other water districts in first class municipalities in the Region.”
